OTHER CARMELITE
INFORMATION
AND REFERENCES

There are two branches in the Carmelite group: they are the Carmelites (OCarm), and the Discalced Carmelites (OCD). They follow the same Rule and traditions, but they developed differently in the sixteenth century. The nuns of the Association of British Carmelites are in the second group.

CARMELITE BOOKLISTS
The Discalced Carmelites of the Austrian Province have very full booklists and texts material on their site, and interesting links.

THERESE of LISIEUX
For books in English on St Thérèse see A select bibliography of works in English published since 1950, compiled in part by Rev. William O Neill, CPPS, and published in the 1996 edition of Story of a Soul. This is a long and thorough list about an important modern saint.
  The best translation and most authentic version of Thérèse's own story is The Story of a Soul, translated by John Clarke, Washington: Institute of Carmelite Studies, 1996 ISBN 0 935216 58 8

CARMELITE BOOKSHOP
The Retreat House at Boars Hill, Oxford run by the Discalced Carmelite Friars has a bookshop which keeps Carmelite books in stock more than most bookshops.Their web site also gives information about the Carmelite Order in Great Britain.

THEOLOGY IN GENERAL
For theological books in general, a helpful site is the Collegeville Theology Library: it gives both lists and texts
